Bwindi Solar Eclipse 2 August 2027 | Partial Eclipse + Gorilla Trekking Combo

On Monday 2 August 2027, a rare total solar eclipse crosses North Africa and the Middle East. While Bwindi Impenetrable National Park won’t see totality, all 4 sectors – Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, Nkuringo – will experience a 26% partial solar eclipse at 1:46pm EAT.

Imagine this: You’re tracking mountain gorillas through misty rainforest when the light subtly dims. Birds go quiet. The temperature drops 2-3°C. For 2 hours, the Sun gets a “bite” taken out by the Moon above Uganda’s canopy.

Combine this once-in-a-lifetime celestial event with Bwindi’s main draw: tracking endangered mountain gorillas. It’s the only time you can tick off “gorillas + solar eclipse” on the same trip. Totality is in Egypt, but Uganda’s Bwindi gives you partial eclipse + primates with zero travel beyond Uganda.
