Day 1: To Bwindi
Our tour guide will meet you At your hotel in Kampala and drive west to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Take a stop over at the Equator for take some photos. You will then continue to Mbarara town where you will stop for lunch before heading through the grasslands of Ankole. Here you will enjoy the outstanding long horned cattle before going on to the highlands of Kigezi referred to as the ‘Switzerland of Africa!. You will arrive in Bwindi in the evening, freshen up as you wait for dinner and over night
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort Camp / Lake Kitandara Camp/ Gorilla Forest Camp / Buhoma homestead/Buhoma community Bandas for those on budget.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking
After a heavy breakfast, assemble for briefing from ranger guides who will lead you through the impenetrable forest. Tracking the Gorillas through the thick forest is an awe-inspiring experience! If you are lucky you can get to see the gorillas, spend 1 hour with them, and be back at the lodge in time for dinner. Commit to memory to carry with you packed lunch, enough water as this activity is so tiring, its also important to wear good hiking boots of an ankle level and long trousers for protection against stinging nettles. Some times the slope may be steep so you should carry. Dinner and overnight at Volcanoes Lodge/Lake Kitandara camp/Gorilla Resort/Buhoma homestead/Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 3: To Rwanda
Take breakfast, then depart for Rwanda passing through the Ankole region, where you see the typical Ankole cattle, coffee plantations and the different vegetation of Uganda, up to the terraced and cultivated hills of the Kigezi region, best known as “the Switzerland of Africa”. Kisoro is positioned at the base of Muhavura volcano at the borders between Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. The vicinity has one of the best scenery as you continue past the border and reach Ruhengeri in Rwanda in time for dinner and overnight. Day 4: Gorilla Tracking
After breakfast, report to ORTPN offices for briefing after which set off in the forest for Gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking is so fatiguing but enjoyable on encounter of these gentle giants. Carry with you a parked lunch and plenty of water. The excitement of your coming across with these calm giants will wipe away your complexity of the potentially strenuous trek. Spend time watching gorillas, watch the adults feeding their young ones, brushing and resting as the youngsters play from vines in a pleasurably playful display. Alternatively if you complete your tracking very early, our guides are accepted to transfer you to Kabale to shorten the distance.
Day 5 To Kampala
After breakfast drive back to Kampala. Lunch en route arriving in the early evening.
